My Most Recent Purchases

I seem to have been shopping a lot more than usual recently. I went to Birmingham with my mum and sister last weekend and was so excited to visit Forever 21 as we don't have one in Leicester and I just loved the shop when I visited it in the USA. I also bought some bits in Primark. I've been ordering a few things from Very.co.uk recently, which is great as they deliver so quickly. I seem to have bought a lot of shoes without realising it too!

I could have bought absolutely everything in Forever 21, but there was so much choice, I felt a little overwhelmed, so only came away with a few bits. I firstly got this light denim shirt as I thought it would look good over most outfits and it really reminds me of the shirt that Caggie wears in the first series of Made In Chelsea, which I always liked.

(very creased) shirt: £16.75, Forever 21.
I got a few things from the accessories section...

Turquoise and Silver necklace: £2.99, Forever 21

Umberella Socks:  £1.50, Forever 21

Black and Antique Gold Skinny Belt: £4.75, Forever 21.

I love the gold embellished collar on this sheer black blouse. I'm thinking of wearing it either tucked into skinny jeans or a plain black high waisted skirt or wearing it with a black vest top underneath and a pair of black leggings.
Sheer Black Blouse With Gold Collar Embellishment:  £10.00, Primark
I loved these shoes so much that I had to buy two different types. I've been seeing this slipper style of shoe everywhere and I think they are a really nice change from basic ballerina flats. The black ones with gold studs remind me of the Jimmy Choo Wheel Slippers that I have been lusting after, but are less than a tenth of the price!

Leopard Print Flats: £6.00, Primark
Studded Flats:  £12.00, Primark
I've wanted one of these ear cuffs for ages, so I got this one in Primark. I think I like it, but I'm not too sure how I'm going to wear it or what with yet.

Gold Ear Cuff:  £2.50, Primark

I fell in love with this spiked necklace at first sight. I feel like it would dress up any plain outfit and add a bit of edge to all black. I love spikes and studs, I feel like they add a little bit of rock.

Gunmetal Spike Necklace:  £5.00, Primark

You'll shout at me for saying this, but I'm so excited for winter. I'd rather be snuggled up in knitwear and wooly socks than bikinis and shorts, which is why I've been buying so many socks recently- in anticipation for winter.

Grey, Black and White Socks:  £2.50, Primark

I've recently discovered very.co.uk. I had never been on there to look for anything before and was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across the site whilst looking for something to wear for a night out. The tartan skirt was something a bit different for me. I usually wear a shorter dress on nights out, but I had a picture in my head of how I wanted my outfit to look and this skirt fitted in perfectly.

Tartan Pencil Skirt:  £25, Very
Nothing really needs to be said about these beauties! Gold T Bar Platforms: £39.99, Very

Very also sell make up including OPI and Nails Inc nail varnishes. I got this Nicole by OPI nail colour from the Kardashian Kolor collection (I am secretly so obsessed with the Kardashians!) it is a beautiful dark teal colour- I think it's fabulous.
Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors in Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam:  £9.00, Very

Eyelure Naturalites Double Lashes:  £5.00, Very

Last but not least, I got these amazing silver velvet pumps from Superga. I decided to get these because although I love Converse and Vans, and won't stop wearing them, I feel like a lot of people also wear them now and I wouldn't mind finding something different. I thought these were just so pretty and different, whilst not being too trainer-ey as I'm not a huge fan of trainers. I will definitely be getting some more Superga pumps as they are so comfy but still stylish (in my opinion!). If they're good enough for Alexa Chung, They're good enough for me!

Silver Velvet Pumps:  £55, Superga

Phew! that is a lot of shopping I've been doing! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the things I've bought and What you would put them with.

The Very Very Very Fab Four

We all thought that we would be best friends with the girls we were so close with at school, didn't we? I know I did. And for a year or so, we all did keep in touch, but then life gets in the way, you end up seeing each other every month, then every six months, and then you realise it's been over a year since you saw the girls you once thought would be in your life forever.

This is what happened to me and my friends. I can honestly say that I missed them every day. I had other friends, but nobody that got me like my oldest friends did, nobody that knew me as well.

I was over the moon when we got back in contact after a year of liking each others Facebook status' and sending texts on birthdays and Christmas, but not having a proper conversation. We met at Lauren's house and gossiped for hours, it was like we had never been apart. We have all changed and grown up so much, but we were like a gang of 14 year old girls again when we got together, screeching with laughter and bitching about everything and everyone. (Only this time, we were drinking the wine legally!).

We planned to go out for drinks and a dance that weekend and it turned into such a fun night out. We all got glammed up and quite tipsy. The only down side was that my shoes were hurting my feet so much that I had to go home earlier than I'd have wanted to. I think I'm getting old!

I've known these girls since I was 10 years old.

Me and the beautiful Spurs. (Please excuse my huge white face!)

Gorgeous ladies, Beth and Lauren

We have spoken over twitter and text almost every day since and I'm really hoping that this will be the start of us becoming the best of friends again, because apart from family, nobody knows me better than these girls and I feel so happy to have a second chance at our friendship.

The Sunday Summary

In this new section of my blog I'll be telling you guys about the 7 best things from my week - one thing from each day. I thought it was a cool idea, as I'll be able to look back on what I've written and see what I was up to each day. It will also help towards me feeling more positive, which can only be a good thing, right!

Sunday 19th August 2012
The best thing about Sunday was spending the whole morning on the sofa with Ben. I'd been out the night before (more about that soon!) and we had also had new Virgin TV installed the day before, which we hadn't had a chance to play with, so we spent the morning in our PJ's flicking though channels and eating fried egg sandwiches.

Monday 20th August 2012
Monday was kind of a dull day, as Monday's normally are. In fact, I hardly remember what I did on Monday apart from go to work. I had a super early night so I guess the best part was catching up on sleep.

Tuesday 21st August
Tuesday was my last night with Ben before he left for Leeds Festival so we went to Asda and bought ice cream and then watched films all evening, which was lovely.

Wednesday 22nd August
Ben left for Leeds on Wednesday morning, so that doesn't really count as the best day of the week! What was great, though was walking to my mums after work and being surprised by my cousin on the way. He's only 14, but is one of the most thoughtful people I know - not a typical 14 year old boy at all. It was lovely to spend time with my family.

Thursday 23rd August.
Thursday was good because I feel like I had a good day at work. I went to a different office to cover, so I got to go to a different part of Leicestershire. Today was also fab because of a lovely offer from a lovely girl. Read more about that here.

Friday 24th August
I had been looking forward to Friday all week as I had a sleepover with my sister planned. We had a fabulous night. We ordered pizza, ate Ben and Jerrys and pick & mix and watched movies all night. It was such a fun, girly night and just what I needed to take my mind off missing Ben

Saturday 25th August

We got up early on Saturday to go to Birmingham with my Mum. We actually shopped till we dropped! I'll let you know in another post about what I bought. I loved looking at all the beautiful handbags in Selfridges and almost had a heart attack in Forever 21 over what a beautiful store it was. I relaxed on Saturday evening with my family and a Chinese take away... almost perfect.

This week has definitely been better than I thought it would be. I've been missing Ben SO much, but have been able to take my mind off it by keeping busy with other things. Luckily, I'll have my gorgeous husband back in a day or so, I can't wait!

Collections: MAC Lipsticks

Hi Dolls!

So I've been thinking about doing a few different types of blog posts in a 'series' type once a week/two week post. I'm going to do it on my collections, since I get a bit obsessive with one brand or collection, i like to buy things in all the colours it comes in. So this week, I'm starting with my MAC lipsticks as they are my favourite thing ever!

My MAC lipstick collection is by no means as big as some of the others that I've seen, but I'm always adding to it, so look out for more posts on them. I do have one that seems to be missing at the moment (sob!) called Show Orchid, it's beautiful, but I'm too sad about it being missing to talk about that right now!

Here's my little collection...

Top: L-R VivaGlam Gaga 1, Vegas Volt, VivaGlam Gaga 2, Pink Nouveau, Chatterbox.
Middle: L-R Creme Cup, Snob, VivaGlam Gaga 1, VivaGlam Cyndi, Girl About Town.
Bottom: Pro Longwear Lipstain Marker in StyleSetter.
I have two of the VivaGlam Gaga 1's as they have now stopped doing them and I love the colour so much that I didn't want to be without it, so I bought another one as a backup.
My most worn colour is Creme Cup. It's the perfect nude lipstick for my skintone and it's in the cremesheen finish, which is my absolute favourite. I love wearing Creme Cup with a smoky eyes look.
The two that I regret buying are the Lipstain and the VivaGlam Gaga 2. The lipstains weren't around for long and I can kind of understand why. The formula is drying on my lips and like a felt tip, seems to run out very quickly. I wish I'd spent the money on another lipstick that I would have got use from. I bought the Gaga 2 because of my love of all things Lady Gaga. I already knew that it wouldn't suit me as well as some others but I didn't realise it would be totally unwearable. I'm so pale that it looks like I'm wearing concealer on my lips (SO not a good look!) if any of you have any tips for a pale girl on wearing this lippie, I would be eternally grateful as I really do want to wear it.
I love Pink Nouveau so much that I wore it on my wedding day. It's the perfect Barbie pink and goes with most looks. I wasn't sure about Vegas Volt, I mostly bought it for the name, but it's such a pretty coral/orange when it's on, I was quite surprised.

I'd love to hear about your favourite MAC lipsticks and your thoughts on the next ones I should add to my collection. I'd also love to know what other collections you'd like me to blog about.

Lucky Charms

I have some jewellery that is so special to me, I never take it off. That doesn't mean to say that it's all hugely expensive, just extremely sentimental, so much that I would cry for weeks if I lost them.

First up, there's the obvious - my wedding and engagement rings. My engagement ring was made in the 1930's in New York. It is 18ct white gold with a 1carat, round cut central diamond. I fell in love with this ring the moment my husband proposed to me with it. It's just so unique, I can't imagine ever finding another one like it.

My wedding ring is a plain 18ct white gold band. I wanted it to be quite plain so that it didn't detract from the beauty of my engagement ring.

My watch never leaves my wrist, which is funny as I never ever wore a watch before I had this one. I got it in Macys, San Francisco last year and I adore it. It took me a while to choose it, as i adore all of the Michael Kors watches, but i thought this would be a good choice as it had gold and silver on it, making it easy to wear with either colour jewellery. I have always loved the chunky boyfriend style watches.

I have three bracelets that I never take off. My Nomination, Thomas Sabo and Pandora charm bracelets. I've collected charms for them over the years from places I've visited or as gifts, so each one means so much to me.

I also wear this tatty old friendship bracelet that was given to me by my sister after she went on a school trip earlier this year. My sister wears the same one, which I love, as she is my absolute best friend ever.

I wear these Tiffany earrings every day because they are just so simple and go with everything. I bought them in Beverley Hills on our honeymoon and have hardly worn different earrings since. Every time I look at them I think of our honeymoon. Every girl needs something from Tiffany's in her life!

Another Tiffany item that I wear all the time is my 'I love you' necklace that my husband gave me the night before our wedding. It's one of the most sentimental of all.

What jewellery do you never take off? I love to know stories behind peoples jewels! What do you think of mine?

My Beautiful New Look Blog

Hi Dolls!

I haven't been around in the blog world for a while now and I feel bad about that, as I've missed it a lot. Sometimes life just gets in the way and it's the last thing on my mind.

I was totally pleased when I got a message today from an old school friend, Georgie from WhatGeorgieDid, who is now an amazing photographer, web designer and all round clever babe, asking if I would like her to design me a new blog layout etc. Obviously I jumped at the chance as I've always admired her blog and photography, and I'm so glad I did, just look at how amazing my blog looks now! (Even if I do say so myself!)

Georgie has inspired me to start blogging properly again and since my husband is away for a few days, what better time to start!
If you happen to be getting married, her wedding photography is just beautiful and so worth a look. Or just follow her on twitter, she's lovely!

Thanks again to Georgie and thanks to anyone that might still be following my blog, waiting for a post. There will be plenty more where this came from!
